Hosting provider LeaseWeb this week said it has partnered with China-based Huawei to add the information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider’s servers to its dedicated server product line.

LeaseWeb’s dedicated server product line includes other well-known server companies, such as Dell, HP (HPQ) and IBM (IBM), to broaden customer choice, the company said.

“LeaseWeb’s proposition with a wide range of hardware brands to choose from is quite unique in the global hosting market,” Huawei Paul Broekhuizen said in a prepared statement. “Their large volume of server hardware in stock, together with their extensive available bandwidth and instant provisioning options for even the most demanding customers, also contributes to their innovative proposition in the market.”

LeaseWeb Operations Director René Olde Olthof said in a prepared statement that the company’s own engineering team tested Huawei’s server equipment and “the performance was extremely good.”

“The energy efficiency of the servers turned out to be remarkably high, which caters to our needs of providing customers with excellent energy performance of their dedicated server packages,” he said. “It’s evident that Huawei is focusing on providing green technology and utilizing about 46 percent of its human capital for R&D related activities.”

There will also be a joint marketing innitiative to provide more information on Huawei-based dedicated server hosting plans to potential customers.

LeaseWeb did not respond in time for additional comment on the partnership.
