LogMeIn Ignition has been updated for Android and the new version is now “optimized” for Android tablets. If you’ve already bought LogMeIn Ignition, you’re in luck, since the update is free. The update, according to the press release, is designed to take advantage of features and the larger tablet size while also providing some more technical feature sets, like Wake-On-LAN, remote sound, multi-monitor support and other capabilities to smooth the remote access process.
Also nice: The one-time price of $29.99 for LogMeIn Ignition can be used across multiple Android devices, as long as they’re registered to the same user. LogMeIn upgraded Ignition in part because of research firm Gartner’s predictions that 2011 tablet shipments will reach 54.8 million. LogMeIn has shown love for IT admins in the past, so it’s no wonder the company would go out of its way to support Android tablets — and robustly, at that.
As always we’ll keep a lookout for more updates and enhancements as tablets continue to find their way into corporate IT environments.
