LuxCloud Bringing Open-Xchange SaaS E-Mail to Resellers

Open-Xchange is continuing its world tour with its recent announcement that European cloud service provider LuxCloud plans to offer its e-mail and collaboration suite via LuxCloud’s channel partners. Better yet: LuxCloud’s reseller ecosystem will be able to offer Open-Xchange (OX) webmail under their own brands.Like other cloud platform providers, LuxCloud offers a way for its channel partners to quickly and easily deploy SaaS solutions to customers on a pay-as-you-go model. For resellers, the program reduces TCO and speeds time-to-market when deploying new services. The LuxCloud backend handles provisioning, order placement and all the other back-office tasks one might expect. It sounds like a fairly standard channel-focused cloud offering.
And now LuxCloud is adding Open-Xchange’s business-class collaboration platform to its portfolio. And as I mentioned before, it’s unbranded, so the reseller can put its own name and logo all over its customer’s webmail portal.
In a prepared statement, LuxCloud CEO Marco Houwen explained the benefits of adding Open-Xchange to its service catalogue for cloud service providers:
“With the rise of the cloud, traditional resellers and system integrators find it hard to retain customer loyalty as cloud giants Amazon, Google, Apple and Microsoft go after their customers. Business-class email is a killer application for small and midsized businesses and Open-Xchange is the proven category leader in cloud email and collaboration. The partnership between Open-Xchange and LuxCloud helps resellers generate new business in the under-served SMB market and remain visible in front of customers with individually branded services.”
There’s no word on any customers already signed to use Open-Xchange by way of LuxCloud’s partner program, but this can only accelerate OX’s efforts to hit 42 million users by 2011’s end. Stay tuned for more updates.
