March 20, 2012
Enterprise content management (ECM) developer M-Files is promoting this week the 2.0 release of its Cloud Vault service at Microsoft Dynamics’ Convergence.2012. Enhancements to Cloud Vault 2.0, designed to run natively on Windows Azure, include support for hybrid cloud configurations, stronger backup and recovery, and 100TB storage.
“With M-Files Cloud Vault 2.0, companies can leverage the cloud for scalable online storage capacity … without giving up any professional ECM capabilities, such as rich metadata, secure access permissions, version history and workflow,” said Greg Milliken, M-Files president, in a prepared statement.
According to the company, some of the other features of M-Files Cloud Vault 2.0 include:
With Windows Azure Connect, M-Files Cloud Vault supports single sign-on through a client’s on-premise domain. The resulting “hybrid” model supports a flexible computing environment that enables businesses to maintain their on-premise systems, while using the cloud to improve their content management.
… [B]usiness continuity and data availability by storing data on multiple replicated disks.
Version 2.0 also uses the new Windows Azure “point-in-time” recovery (PITR) capabilities which enable data recovery back to any time in the past
M-Files delivers access to the cloud with a unique caching capability that provides improved performance, eliminating the latency often experienced with cloud-based solutions.
The Dallas-based firm, formerly Motive Systems, debuted in April 2011 and also develops ECM software. Channel partners can click here to learn more about the M-Files partner program.
