Cybersecurity vendor McAfee Tuesday launched a new security portfolio focused on simplified management, stronger Windows security, analytics including machine learning, and coverage for Android and IOS devices.

The McAfee Mvision technology portfolio delivers a cloud-first approach to device security that “empowers security professionals to manage a comprehensive array of McAfee and native operating systems (OS) through a single integrated workspace,” according to the company.

Nathan Jenniges, McAfee’s senior director of device security, tells Channel Partners the portfolio creates “great opportunities for partners.”

“Partner feedback from advisory councils, net-promoter surveys, support interactions and other forums was incorporated into the McAfee Mvision strategy and product requirements,” he said. “In addition, McAfee partners are actively involved in beta programs on the new McAfee Mvision products providing hands-on feedback to improve the products prior to general availability.”

The portfolio includes Mvision ePO (ePolicy Orchestrator), Endpoint and Mobile.

ePO is a cloud-based SaaS service that offers a centralized point of view and comprehension, while Endpoint leverages, strengthens and manages the native security already built into Windows 10.

Mobile provides visibility and mobile threat defense for iOS-and Android-based devices to ensure they are safeguarded just like any other device.

“Several key partner issues are addressed with the new McAfee Mvision portfolio,” Jenniges said. “ePO eliminates the resources and costs of on-premises infrastructure, freeing up resources to move from deploy/maintain to maximizing effectiveness/lowering risk. Endpoint solves a myriad of requests for modern endpoint protection including … using what is already built into Windows 10, automatic monthly updates, simple workflows for deployment, policies and remediation, and all without compromising the core job — protection. Mobile solves a request to provide mobile threat defense with visibility and management in McAfee ePO. Partners can now sell the new value and drive new mobile services around the McAfee products.”

Raja Patel, McAfee’s vice president and general manager of corporate security products, said this first wave of the Mvision portfolio provides businesses with an “elevated management perspective where security administrators can more easily defend their devices and fight cyber-adversaries in a cohesive and simplified manner.”

Also Tuesday, McAfee, announced the availability of ePO on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

“McAfee partner’s can now deploy McAfee ePO in their or a customer’s AWS account, eliminating the costs and resources of on-premises deployments (no more database administration needed, auto-updates eliminate complex infrastructure upgrade projects),” Jenniges said. “Instead, partners can leverage the new capacity to offer high-value services to customers, like using the new Threat Workspace to improve the security posture and reduce risk.”
