Microsoft Releases Dynamics CRM Mobile for iOS, Android
February 7, 2012
The mobile world is dominating every nook and cranny of the rest of the IT world. Another shining example: Microsoft has announced that Microsoft Dynamics CRM will be coming to a tablet near you, sometime in Q2 2012. If analyzing your business analytics on the go is a priority, then get excited for this …
Microsoft’s deployment of Microsoft Dynamics CRM will be a virtualized cloud-based platform with a native application for every major mobile platform: iOS, Android, Windows Phone 7 and even BlackBerry. Microsoft believes this kind of platform proliferation will help make Microsoft Dynamics CRM an “obvious choice” as mobile computing evolves in 2012.
Microsoft Dynamics CRM Q2 2012 service update (whenever it arrives this quarter) also will feature built-in “social functionality” and more features aligned for enterprise use. As an added bonus, Dynamics CRM web browser compatibility now has guaranteed functionality in Chrome, Firefox and Safari — PC or Mac. Microsoft promises that all information — either from the web browser or native mobile application — will be synced, maintained and updated continuously to ensure a consistent experience across any platform.
Anytime a company focuses on a ubiquitous, high-quality cross-platform mobile experience, it’s simply a good thing. It means all users have a chance to get at the data they need in a way that’s familiar, comfortable and productive for each individual user. Microsoft is smart to continue to develop for the iPad and Android, even though those products compete with Windows 8 and Windows Phone 7. It shows Microsoft’s commitment to giving its customers what they want rather than being hard-headed about brand loyalty.
The only catch? The price tag — Microsoft Dynamics CRM Mobile will be subscription-based at $30 per user per month, although up to three devices can be linked to a single user.
