NetSuite Unveils SuiteCommerce, Adds Customers, Partners

At its recent SuiteWorld 2012 conference in San Francisco, cloud-based financials and ERP software provider NetSuite made a number of announcements including its new SuiteCommerce platform, new enterprise customers and new tech partnerships.

At its recent SuiteWorld 2012 conference in San Francisco, cloud-based financials and ERP software provider NetSuite made a number of announcements including its new SuiteCommerce platform, new enterprise customers and new tech partnerships.

First, NetSuite announced its “Commerce as a Service” (CaaS) offering, designed to enable enterprises to manage interactions with other business and with customers on any current or future device through a cloud platform based on NetSuite’s core ERP/CRM business management application. NetSuite claims the driver for the platform is its new SuiteCommerce platform, which “provides a central system to manage all transactions and associated customer interactions with consumers and other businesses regardless of touch point,” (e.g. website, smartphone, social media site or in-store).

Also, at the SuiteWorld conference NetSuite announced new enterprise customers including Land O’Lakes, Girl Scouts of the USA, Procter & Gamble, Indonesian steel manufacturer PT Prisma Resources and Pitney Bowes Inc. Land O’Lakes and PT Prisma Rescoures will be using NetSuite’s OneWorld ERP solution, while the Girl Scouts are implementing SuiteCommerce to drive their e-commerce website.

Finally, NetSuite announced new partnerships with service providers, consultants and midmarket VARs. These include Deloitte Consulting LLP, Grant Thornton, Blytheco and Frank, Rimerman + Co.

In April NetSuite reported a net loss of $7.7 million for Q1 2012, but its total revenue grew 30 percent to $69.3 million. NetSuite also claimed customers are migrating from on-premise solutions such as Sage and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains to NetSuite’s cloud-based ERP system. However, Microsoft also has indicated that its own Dynamics business has been growing at a healthy pace, though much of the growth talk is around Dynamics CRM.
