NoSQL, Hadoop Power NSA PRISM, Big Data War on Terror?

NoSQL, Hadoop Power NSA PRISM, Big Data War on Terror?

The National Security Agency (NSA) apparently uses Hadoop, NoSQL and other open source software to wage its Big Data war against terrorism, according to anecdotal evidence and industry pundits who spoke with The Wall Street Journal.

That new technology reality begs the question: Why aren't more channel partners getting involved in Big Data, Hadoop and NoSQL opportunities?

Whether you favor or reject the NSA's Big Brother (er, Big Data) efforts — which includes gathering and analyzing phone calls from Verizon's network — there's no denying that NpSQL and Hadoop are becoming big-time Big Data analysis tools.

Even if you think those numbers are wildly optimistic, it's hard to argue against double-digit growth in both areas as businesses seek to gather and analyze more data to boost sales and customer engagements.

So where are channel partners amid all this Hadoop and NoSQL activity? In most cases they're absent. But it doesn't have to be that way. The VAR Guy's own Christopher Tozzi covers both open source technologies on a regular basis. Just check the related headlines further below.
