Sponsored Video: The Novell Cloud Security Service (NCSS), designed for managed services providers and hosting partners, officially launches today. But what exactly is NCSS and what type of partner opportunities does the identity and security management platform offer? Novell Distinguished Engineer Dale Olds (pictured) provides some answers in this FastChat video.First, a little background: Originally announced in July 2009, Novell Cloud Security Service “enables Cloud Providers and Software as a Service (SaaS) vendors to ensure their offerings meet the strict security and compliance standards required by global businesses.”
The solution basically wraps identity, security, access and compliance management around cloud applications. Novell is striving to work with hosting partners, managed services providers and emerging companies that focus on infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS).
Novell Cloud Security Service (NCSS) appears to be a natural addition to Novell’s product portfolio, which already includes on-premises security and identity management software. But Dale Olds, a Novell distinguished engineer, is quick to note that NCSS was written from the ground up for hosting partners, MSPs and cloud-centric partners.
