Oracle just became the ninth cloud provider on Verizon’s Secure Cloud Interconnect Service  with today’s announcement of Verizon Secure Cloud Interconnect for Oracle FastConnect.

Oracle FastConnect provides a high bandwidth connection between a customer’s data center and Oracle Cloud service. By partnering with Verizon, Oracle customers can now connect to Oracle Cloud data center sites located in the U.S. and Europe.

Verizon Secure Cloud Interconnect for Oracle FastConnect also allows enterprises to store data in a variety of settings, including a traditional IT environment, and a dedicated on- or off-premises cloud, providing customers flexibility and choice. Verizon’s Secure Cloud Interconnect solutions are software-defined networking (SDN) based.

Verizon Secure Cloud Interconnect for Oracle FastConnect allows users to connect to applications simply, securely and reliably — as they digitally transform their organizations, stated Shawn Hakl, vice president of enterprise networking and innovation at Verizon.

Some Secure Cloud Interconnect features: access privileges that are private and secure; pre-provisioned high-speed virtual connections to cloud service providers; usage-based billing, reliable connectivity, online management of network bandwidth and cloud environments with Verizon Enterprise Center.{ad}

Verizon Secure Cloud Interconnect for Oracle FastConnect supports Oracle’s broader portfolio of Fast Connect services, which allow customers to establish a secure high-speed private MPLS connection between their existing IT infrastructure and the cloud compute resources on the Oracle Cloud.  The services are delivered by a set of offerings within the Oracle Network Cloud Service portfolio, designed to give enterprises fast and consistent network performance, as well as hybrid cloud deployment options, according to Oracle.

Cloud providers AWS, Google Cloud Platform, HPE Rapid Connect, IBM Cloud Softlayer, Microsoft ExpressRoute for Office 365, Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute, Microsoft Azure Government, Salesforce, SAP and Verizon Cloud and Enterprise Cloud Federal Edition and now Oracle, access Verizon Secure Cloud Interconnect.

Just about one year ago, Equinix and Oracle joined forces on Equinix Cloud Exchange. Equinix Cloud Exchange is an interconnection solution that enables seamless, on-demand and direct access for cloud adoption to multiple clouds and multiple networks across the globe.
