Poll Results: Seahawks Win Super Bowl XLVIII, Channel Guesses Wrong
Our poll revealed last week that the overwhelming majority of our readers expected the Denver Broncos to run away with a win in Super Bowl XLVIII. One company responds.
The overwhelming majority of Talkin’ Cloud readers expected the Denver Broncos to run away with a win in Super Bowl XLVIII, defeating the Seattle Seahawks, according to our poll last week. But, as you probably already know, the exact opposite happened.
While many in the channel, including SHI International Corp., a managed services provider (MSP) that has the Denver Broncos as a customer, are still mourning over the embarrassing defeat, one cloud-based backup and disaster recovery (BDR) executive provided us with his own analysis of the game.

Acronis Product Management Director Sergey Kandaurov told Talkin’ Cloud after the game that “human error was the defining factor.”
“From the first play, the Broncos hiked the ball into the end zone for a safety,” he said. “Nowhere to go from there.”
The opening play was a result of human error, Kandaurov said, which he compared to the ongoing battle that IT departments are facing with data loss, noting that human error is the number one reason for data loss.
“Even for the best IT teams, the human factor can be that defining factor putting your business goals out the window,” he said. “Best answer — a good backup plan.”
Other channel vendors expressed their game insights on Twitter:
Intronis (@IntronisInc) — “Peyton needed a better protection plan. And Seattle proved a good defense beats a strong attack.Good lessons for backup providers!”
Continuum (@FollowContinuum) — “Definitely a fun game to watch @cjarlotta — even if we were #Broncos fans for the day cc @greystonetech #channel #tech”
