Red Hat Cloud Access Comes to Microsoft Azure

A week after announcing its partnership with Red Hat, Microsoft has announced that Microsoft Azure is recognized as a Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider (CCSP) which enables users to migrate Red Hat subscriptions to Microsoft Azure. Microsoft also announced the immediate availability of integrated support between Microsoft and Red Hat.

Customers can move Red Hat subscriptions as part of the Red Hat Cloud Access Program, according to a blog post by Corey Sanders, Director of Program Management, Azure. He said that Red Hat products enabled for Cloud Access include Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 and above and 7.1 and above, Red Hat JBoss Middleware, OpenShift Enterprise by Red Hat and Red Hat Gluster Storage.

Microsoft said that migrated subscriptions will allow customers to maintain a direct relationship with Red Hat even when subscription benefits move to Azure.

Microsoft has provided instructions for how to register Red Hat subscriptions for Red Hat Cloud Access, and a demo of image import and Red Hat Enterprise Linux VM provisioning in a recorded webinar.

Sanders said that in the coming months Red Hat Enterprise Linux images will be enabled for on-demand billing directly in its marketplace.
