Salesforce Tower to Hold 10,000 Employees by End of Year, Benioff Says

Salesforce Tower, the $1.1 billion, 1.4 million square foot office building at the corner of Mission and Fremont streets in San Francisco, will hold 10,000 Salesforce employees by the end of 2017 – approximately one-third of its global workforce.

According to a report by Business Insider, the Salesforce Tower is set for completion in July 2017, when the tower will be the tallest occupiable building west of Chicago.

Salesforce will pay developer Boston Properties close to $560 million over 15 and a half years to lease 30 floors in the building, which stands at 61 stories. Other tenants in the building include Bain & Company, Accenture, and CBRE real estate group.

Boston Properties has 700 construction workers on site each day to meet the construction deadline. The structural phase of construction to the building ended last week. The developer is posting daily construction photos to the Salesforce Tower website to track its progress.

The top floor of the building will be named Ohana Floor and will be available to nonprofit groups and NGOs to rent out event space for free. “Ohana” is the Hawaiian word for family and is used a lot at Salesforce to refer to its customers and partners.
