Big Data analytics company SiSense announced the appointment of Mark Ferretti as vice president of Global Alliances and Channels. As the company’s first-ever channel chief, Ferretti will be tasked with developing and expanding SiSense’s network of alliances and partners on a global scale.
“We’re moving full speed ahead in hyper-growth mode,” said Amit Bendov, CEO of SiSense, in a statement. “We’ve tripled subscription revenues each year for the past three years and now we are building a strong channel presence and forming alliances that will further accelerate our rapid growth. Partnerships represent a major expansion opportunity, and Mark has the proven expertise to recruit world-class partners and educate them on how SiSense makes Big Data analytics accessible and affordable for companies of all sizes.”
Ferretti has worked in the industry for more than 25 years, bringing with him channel experience with companies such as IBM (IBM) and Computer Associates (CA), according to SiSense. Ferretti has also held senior positions at Business Objects, Cognos, QlikTech and others.
“I’ve worked at every evolution of business intelligence in my career and SiSense represents the next generation,” said Ferretti. “SiSense has a formidable sales engine and we will be creating an equally impressive outbound program both globally and vertically focused. For instance, by building relationships with quality partners who have domain expertise, SiSense can more easily secure vertical market leadership positions—and that’s just the beginning of boundless growth opportunities.”
In June, SiSense closed $30 million in Series C financing from venture capital firm DFJ Growth, with additional funding from investors Battery Ventures, Genesis Partners and Opus Capital, according to the company. SiSense also recently introduced SiSense5, a new analytics solution to help non-technical users join multiple data sources, analyze records and share interactive dashboards from any device.
While the appointment of a new channel chief is not in and of itself an unusual bit of news, Ferretti’s position at SiSense is remarkable in that the company’s main focus is Big Data analytics, a service not commonly associated with a widespread network of VARs and channel partners. Further details are still forthcoming on how SiSense plans to utilize the channel and what a potential partner program might look like, but the company’s moves may set a precedent for other such Big Data companies looking to expand their business on a global scale.
