SkySync, an enterprise cloud migration service provider, has launched a new connector that allows customers to integrate IBM’s Case Manager Enterprise Cloud Management (ECM) platform with the company’s Enterprise Edition file logistics middleware.

Put simply, the connector allows SkySync customers who also use IBM’s portfolio of storage systems to bi-directionally sync their files, folders, user accounts and other data with any SkySync-supported on-premises or cloud-based storage system, according to the announcement. The file sync process is conducted automatically, eliminating the need for customers to manually move content between storage systems.

SkySync said the connector is useful for IBM customers because they can now benefit from cloud storage without getting rid of their existing storage infrastructure, thus creating a hybrid storage solution.

“Given the vast number of IBM Case Manager installations globally, today’s release of a new SkySync Connector for one of the industry’s most widely deployed ECM systems is a watershed moment,” said Doak Williford, vice president of Platform Solutions at SkySync, in a statement. “It offers IBM’s Case Manager customers and business partners a chance to rapidly deliver a new class of highly collaborative and distributed ECM business solutions.”

SkySync already has a number of IBM connectors in its portfolio, including ones specific to Lotus Quickr and Domino, according to the company. An addition connector for IBM’s Image Services is expected to launch this summer, although a specific date has not been announced.
