StillSecure, which develops network security software, is preparing to unveil a cloud offering that will likely debut at the Hosting and Cloud Transformation Summit (Sept. 25-27, Las Vegas). StillSecure Chief Technology Officer James Brown gave me some clues about the strategy on Aug. 12.

“The idea is really to secure cloud servers directly in a way that is extremely easy to use,” Brown said. “We want to make it something that clients will just have to have.”

The solution is still in development so we don’t all of the details, but we do know the StillSecure cloud solution will include a cloud-based firewall to firewall settings for cloud servers. “Then we will extend that to other security areas like log management and file integrity,” Brown added. StillSecure is negotiating with several potential cloud partners, though details are pending.

Meanwhile, StillSecure continues to enhance Safe Access, the company’s network access control (NAC) platform. Among the key priorities: Mobile device management (MDM) capabilities for Android, iOS, Windows Phone 7 and BlackBerry Devices. “A number of customers have been asking about mobile device management,” said Brown.  StillSecure expects to add the MDM capabilities to Safe Access by the beginning of the 2012 calendar year.
