StillSecure Offers Managed Security for Rackspace Cloud
May 31, 2012
Managed network security and certified compliance specialist StillSecure has made its security services available for the Rackspace Cloud open cloud platform. The integation allows Rackspace Cloud customers to secure their servers using StillSecure Cloud Network Security Apparatus (NSA), which gives customers the opportunity to secure their public cloud servers with a suite of managed security services, including managed firewall, IDPS, log management, WAF, file integrity monitoring and others.
StillSecure plans to offer and provide support for its Cloud NSA solution through Rackspace’s Cloud Tools Program, along with StillSecure’s Cloud Security Monitoring Service (SMS), an automated cloud instance-based security offering.
“Regardless of industry or company size, cloud users continue to tell us that their number one concern is security,” said James Brown, CTO of StillSecure, in a prepared statement. “By embedding our managed security services within the Rackspace Cloud, we have eliminated the need for customers to add the security layer as an afterthought. We’re making it easy for Rackspace customers to purchase Cloud NSA, and by simplifying the process and adding high quality security services.”
StillSecure customers receive the Cloud NSA instance, 24/7 event monitoring, access to security experts, and a Web-based portal. The Cloud NSA instance becomes a network gateway through which the other instances in a customer’s environment pass all traffic from the Internet, while traffic between instances is unaffected. Customers thus manage security in one location, which simplifies and reduces the complexity of the process.
A month ago StillSecure announced it had joined the Amazon Web Services Partner Network, and would offer Cloud SMS for free to AWS customers with a plan to include premium add-ons based on features and usage. A Linux-based firewall management service, Cloud SMS is designed for firms leveraging IaaS and IaaS providers.
