Symplified, Solstice Computing Partner for BYOD Cloud Apps

Problem: cloud applications running on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets aren’t always as secure as they should be, especially in the world of “bring your own device” (BYOD). But security-as-a-service provider Symplified and systems integrator Solstice Computing have partnered to fill the gap and enforce policy compliance even for the mobile workforce.

Under the deal, Solstice Computing will provide its customers with the cloud-delivered Symplified Mobile Edition, extending identity and access management (IAM) capabilities to users’ enterprise and personal devices alike — but with a focus on the latter.

The value proposition of Symplified Mobile Edition is threefold, according to the press release: it secures cloud and native mobile apps from prying eyes, it grants single sign-on (SSO) capabilities, and it provides an audit trail for compliance reporting. Symplified Mobile Edition doesn’t require any client software to be installed on the mobile endpoint, meaning less interference with employees’ personal devices.

Peter Gyurko, mobile security practice lead for Solstice Consulting, explained the benefits of partnering up with Symplified in a prepared statement:
