Tech Data‘s TDCloud business unit is growing again—this time with the help of Cisco Systems partner collab9. The distributor announced the addition to TDCloud at its Fall Channel Link in Anaheim, Calif., this week.
Through the distribution deal, Tech Data will bring the Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) to its reseller customers via collab9, which will provide HCS as a service. It will be available through the TDCloud Solutions Store.
“With Cisco HCS, Tech Data is enabling resellers to transform their business practices into thriving cloud and managed service providers,” said Stacy Nethercoat, vice president of Product Marketing, Software and Cloud Services at Tech Data, in a prepared statement.
It’s really another big move by collab9, which was just recently formed as a cloud-focused division of En Pointe Technologies and also just signed a distribution deal with Comstor for Cisco-based cloud solutions. When we wrote about collab9 for the first time earlier this month, the company noted it would be working with two distributors. Obviously one was Comstor. And now the other is clear, as well.
For Tech Data and its reseller customers, this addition represents an increasing opportunity for cloud collaboration offerings hosted by partners. With HCS, collab9 will provide a handful of benefits to resellers, including:
Delivering a unified user experience;
Optimizing resources and shifting the IT spend from a capex model to an opex model;
Improving IT and business agility; and
Maintaining control and managing service levels.
With the new distribution deal in place, Tech Data’s TDCloud resellers will have immediate access to collab9’s Cisco HCS offering.
