Tech Data Unveils Cloud-Focused Enablement Program

Tech Data (TECD) has rolled out a new cloud-focused education and enablement program through its TDCloud business unit to help solution providers identify new opportunities in the cloud. The program, which will be offered as part of TDCloud Academy, was announced during this week’s TDCloud Partner Summit in Miami.

The program will focus on helping solution providers learn how to grow their cloud business from burgeoning company to big-time contender, according to the distributor. The program also will teach solution providers how to create their own cloud-based business solutions and develop tiered cloud practices.

“The evolution of cloud computing continues to remain a key focus area for Tech Data and solution providers,” said Stacy Nethercoat, vice president, Product Marketing for TDCloud, in a statement. “Through the program, Tech Data is readying solution providers for a key trend in IT—cloud-based business solutions.”

Those interested in taking the new online program must complete six modules in each given track, which includes lessons on value-added training, eLearning and consulting. The three available tracks are divided into helping solution providers to launch their cloud business, expand their cloud business and maximize their cloud business, respectively.

Tech Data will evaluate and identify which track is the best fit for each individual solution provider through a customized Partner Evaluation Tool, a self-scoring system that analyzes “knowledge, business infrastructure and attitudes toward cloud computing.” The company also recently began providing Oracle’s (ORCL) suite of SaaS-based cloud applications to resellers in the United States through its TDCloud business unit.
