TPx Boosts National Presence with Security Operations Center
It's part of the rebranded company's shift to managed services.
TPx is opening a new security operations center (SOC) as part of its national expansion.
The company fka TelePacific says it is investing “seven figures” into a SOC in St. Louis, Missouri. The center will oversee any cyberthreats that might come across TPx’s customer networks.
“Managed IT and cyberthreats are growing exponentially and we’ve made a strategic investment to provide both the technology and intellectual resources to support our customers’ needs for military-grade cybersecurity that is integrated into all the services we provide them,” said Jared Martin, vice president of ITx managed services for TPx.
The location offers physical protection – including facial and fingerprint recognition and glass walls that can be fogged – and cybersecurity solutions. TPx says it will add DDoS protection and endpoint protection to the list of services in order to protect mobile workforces.
The center will give around-the clock support with a team of analysts that have backgrounds in military and intelligence. Adam Weber, SOC manager for TPx, spent several years with the National Guard.
“I came here after 15 years working with the Department of Defense managing data security because the opportunity to design, build and run a SOC using the latest understanding of how to provide security was compelling,” Weber said. “Customer needs – today’s and tomorrow’s – to be able to confidently run their enterprises in an increasingly volatile, weaponized data universe are what we built this SOC to provide.”
The TPx rebrand has put a focus on managed services, which the company says accounts for half of its $700 million revenue.
TPx recently hired a new regional channel manager and made an appearance at the Telarus Partner Summit.
