Cloud- and onsite-based security company Trend Micro’s SafeSync application is now available through Verizon Apps, the mobile storefront for Verizon Wireless, on selected Android devices. SafeSync is the second Trend Micro product available on Verizon Apps, following the earlier launch of Mobile Security Personal Edition.

SafeSync is a cloud-based file backup and synchronization app that allows users to securely access and share their digital assets across multiple devices and computers. It fully integrates into a PC or Mac system and keeps customer files up-to-date across all sources of access. Users fully control who receives access to their files.

“We are delighted to be adding a second Trend Micro app in Verizon’s app store,” said Carol Carpenter, general manager, Consumer Division at Trend Micro in a prepared statement. “Now Verizon customers can allow friends and family to share home videos and other media content in a secure way directly from a SafeSync account, without the hassle of downloads and bulky e-mails.”

In November 2011, Talkin Cloud reported that TrendMicro upgraded SafeSync with a new interface, folder functionality and SLA. Rivals to TrendMicro include SOS Online Backup and ownCloud.
