VMTurbo Releases Operations Manager 3.1
May 7, 2012
VMTurbo, a workload software management provider for cloud and virtualized environments, announced the 3.1 version of its Operations Manager offering. The new software release features an extension to the Application Delivery Controller (ADC) infrastructure, new integration with CloudStack and physical-to-virtual planning.
With the extension of the ADC infrastructure, Operations Manager now integrates with Citrix NetScaler, an application acceleration and load balancing appliance which, according to VMTurbo, automates control and real-time resource allocation decisions for multitiered applications. The newly announced CloudStack integration adds to the support of the 3.0 release for VMware vCloud Director.
Regarding physical-to-virtual planning, according to a VMTurbo blog: “… One of the most acclaimed features of our product is intelligent capacity planning. This release provides the ability to consume data about your physical environment and run our planner to give you the specific configuration recommendations as you prepare to extend your virtual environment.”
“With this release of VMTurbo Operations Manager, we continue to leverage our innovative approach to intelligent, automated datacenter management,” said Shmuel Kliger, CTO and founder of VMTurbo, in the press release. “Because our technology approaches real-time operations and capacity planning by representing the IT environment as a market, we are able to easily consume sources of data like application front-ends, or new cloud architectures; incorporate them in our decision-making platform; and leverage the control points they provide to maintain the environment in an optimal state.”
VMTurbo introduced Operations Manager in August 2010 and now claims more than 4,000 customers. In 2011 VMTurbo launched its Cloud Operations Manager offering as well as a free Community Edition, added Microsoft Windows Server Hyper-V support, and debuted (channel partners, please take note) its Global Partner Program.
