Keep a close eye on ADTRAN and Interlink over the next few months, especially when it comes to potential managed services moves. ADTRAN specializes in networking equipment, and competes in some areas against Cisco Systems Inc. Interlink is a value-added distributor that assists ADTRAN resellers. Here’s where they may be heading together.

ADTRAN has publicly stated plans to offer management services software. And I expect Interlink to gradually position itself as a master MSP, potentially competing (in a few selected areas) against Ingram Micro’s Seismic initiative.

ADTRAN and Interlink briefed me on some of their plans during a press and analyst tour at ADTRAN’s headquarters in November. The duo announced a value-added distribution agreement this week. And I expect to hear more about ADTRAN and Interlink’s joint work in the months ahead.
