Wouldn't it be great if you could integrate a WiFi product with a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution? Well, a newly announced partnership has made it happen. Aerohive Networks, a company that delivers enterprise WiFi solutions, has announced a partnership with JAMF Software — a developer of MDM solutions for the iOS platform — that will provide comprehensive management of Apple devices by automating and enforcing enrollment of devices to ensure compliance with organization policy. The companies are achieving this through integration of Aerohive Networks' enterprise WiFi products with JAMF Software's Casper Suite.

Combining these two solutions gives IT administrators a complete management and network access solution for Apple devices in schools and enterprises. For example, many students are participating in the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) trend, which can become a hassle for any IT manager. This new integrated solution enforces the enrollment process of those student-owned devices by only granting WiFi network access to those who enroll. Those who are not enrolled are redirected to the enrollment page. Network access is automatically disabled if the student uninstalls the profile.

Enterprises will also benefit from this partnership by receiving network control and access with controller-less WiFi functionality including: remote monitoring, troubleshooting, SLA compliance, airtime management and built-in spectrum analysis. Administrators are also given the ability to manage, control and maintain Apple devices by collecting inventory information.

Those educational institutions interested in JAMF Software can receive a copy without paying any fees.
