AirWatch Connect 2015 News Roundup

With AirWatch Connect 2015 happening in Atlanta earlier this week, there was a lot of enterprise mobility management news to be had. We covered some of the biggest announcements from this year's show in depth, but we also wanted to bring you a quick summary of some of the other news that was announced at this year's show.

AirWatch Adds New Members to ACE Community: AirWatch announced the addition of 21 new member companies to its Application Configuration for Enterprise (ACE) Community this week, raising the total number of members to more than 40. The group works with AirWatch to drive best practices for device-native OS standards for enterprise app development and security so that customers can easily deploy programs via their EMM solutions.

New members include Blue Jeans Network, Cotap, SAP, Socialcast by VMware, StarMobile, TeleMessage, Wandera, X1 and more. VMware launched the community at Mobile World Congress 2015.

"There is an overwhelming interest to simplify mobility for business, and enable end users to get a true native and consistent experience," said Mimi Spier, senior director of Strategic Business Development at VMware and leader of ACE. "We believe the ACE community can dramatically impact overall mobility adoption in business."

AirWatch Previews Privacy First Program: AirWatch provided the first details on its Privacy First program, which will provide online resources for expanded privacy education to help users gain a better understanding of organization compliance, end user transparency and choice, according to the announcement. End users in particular will have access to a host of online resources regarding AirWatch data collection and privacy policies so they can gain a better understanding of the company's security features. The resources are expected to be available in Q4 2015.

Additional Support for Windows 10: AirWatch also announced the immediate release of enhanced support for Windows 10 as well as new capabilities to enable unified endpoint management with increased support for operating systems and devices. The Windows 10 addition include Azure Active Directory integration, bulk provisioning options and support for Win32 and Universal apps. A series of new device management policies are expected to help simplify device configuration and enable secure access to company resources, including native email configuration, advanced VPN configuration and more.
