Arcserve Celebrates 1 Year Anniversary with Greatest Hits List

Data protection and recovery solutions provider Arcserve celebrated its one-year anniversary as an independently operated company this week by running down a list of some of its recent milestones, including the launch of Arcserve Unified Data Protection and the Arcserve Partner Program.

One year out from its split from CA Technologies (CA), Arcserve is reporting positive growth, with the company bringing on 170 new employees globally. Arcserve also established a new headquarters in Minneapolis and nearly tripled its customer base since the split, according to the announcement.

“Organizations are struggling with a combination of issues related to data growth, compliance requirements, security threats and limited resources, causing many to seek new solutions for protection and recovery,” said Mike Crest, CEO of Arcserve, in a statement. “Since emerging as an independent, private data protection company one year ago, we’ve focused squarely on resolving these issues for our customers through the development of feature-rich solutions that are easy to deploy and manage.”

Other developments this year for Arcserve include the launch of the Arcserve UDP 7000 Appliance and Arcserve Cloud. The company also announced an exclusive distribution agreement with Ingram Micro (IM) to sell the company’s solutions to partners in North America.

In case you’ve forgotten, CA Technologies relinquished control of its Arcserve business last July after it was purchased by Los Angeles-based investment firm Marlin Equity Partners. In August, Arcserve announced it would begin operating as an independent company in an effort to be more agile as a data protection and recovery software provider.

With its first year of business officially in the rearview mirror, Arcserve said it plans to continue to tweak its UDP platform for MSPs and add more global coverage for the Arcserve Cloud. The company is already on track to exceed its fiscal year 2016 growth plans and will focus on expanding its solution portfolio, according to the announcement.
