Asigra Unveils Converged Data Protection Appliance

Asigra has unveiled a new appliance to help managed service providers (MSPs) enter the backup and disaster recovery (BDR) services market.

The cloud BDR platform provider this week announced its Converged Data Protection Appliance for Service Providers at the Asigra Global Partner Summit in Toronto. This appliance will enable MSPs to secure customer data, Asigra said, and boost their recurring revenues simultaneously.

Asigra noted that its Converged Data Protection Appliance for Service Providers serves as “a multi-tenant, enterprise-class, agentless data protection platform for all sources and types of data in the data center and beyond.”

The appliance allows MSPs to reduce their capital and operating expenses, Asigra said, and start protecting customer data in minutes.

Asigra also said the appliance offers:

  • Data protection for all data sources, regardless of platform

  • The ability to view and administer protection across all customer data sources from the same GUI tool

  • 1 TB Free Forever of Asigra Cloud Backup under the company’s Recovery License Model

In addition, StorageReview.com reported that end-to-end IT solutions provider Avnet Embedded will be packaging and shipping the new Asigra appliance and providing hardware support.

Asigra said it expects three Converged Data Protection Appliance models with different billable capacities to be available in August.
