Carbonite Adds Former Bit9 Exec as VP of North American Channel Sales
Carbonite (CARB) has named (officially) Jessica Couto as its vice president of North American channel sales. Here are the details.
Carbonite (CARB) has added an IT industry veteran to help guide its North American channel sales.
The Boston-based backup and disaster recovery (BDR) solutions provider has named Jessica Couto as its vice president of North American channel sales. This is the company’s “official” introduction of Couto although, as reported last month in The VAR Guy, she’s already been hard at work in her new role.
Carbonite said Couto is expected to lead the company’s channel sales and continue to expand its channel partner programs.
Couto has more than 10 years of channel experience. She previously served as director of worldwide channels at endpoint security provider Bit9 + Carbon Black and led eastern US channel sales at IT security software company Kaspersky Lab.
So what does Couto’s addition mean for Carbonite’s managed service provider (MSP) partners?
Couto told MSPmentor Carbonite wants to create “margin-rich opportunities for our partners by providing them simple yet powerful disaster recovery solutions.”
In addition, she added that Carbonite plans to explore new ways to support its partners.
“As we look to continue improving our partnerships with MSPs, we will place a focus on rewarding margins for partners, arming them with more Carbonite-branded collateral to ensure they can effectively market our solutions and boost revenue,” she said. “We aim to take a ‘verticalized’ approach to events, marketing, messaging, all of which will be important for helping our partners better serve their customers, and aim to increase the ease of doing business with us.”
David Raissipour, Carbonite’s senior vice president of engineering, pointed out Carbonite currently has more than 7,000 active resellers in its partner program.
