DotNetNuke Corp., which promotes an open source approach to Microsoft .NET, is claiming victory on the channel partner front. The company says its Fusion Partner Program, launched in September 2009, has attracted 15 key partners. That’s not a huge number … but The VAR Guy senses DotNetNuke is gaining critical mass. Organizations use DotNetNuke to develop and deploy interactive and dynamic web sites, intranets, extranets and web applications, according to the company’s positioning statement.
Admittedly, those 6 million DotNetNuke downloads don’t necessarily generate paying customers. But let’s be clear: Channel partners are attracted to money. And apparently, more than a dozen new partners think DotNetNuke can be a revenue generator for their businesses.

Gold Partners include AppTheory, Cantarus Ltd., CDAA, Engage Software, I-Business Solutions, Maximum ASP, PowerDNN, R2integrated and SteadyRain.
Certified Partners include ASC, Cegeka, eXcommerce AS, Glanton Solutions, Mad Development and SalarO.
Companies joining the partner program are typically system integrators, hosting providers, designers, and training partners as sanctioned resellers.
More Disruptions Coming
No doubt, open source web development companies are working overtime on their partner programs. A prime example: Engine Yard — another open source web development company — says its Ruby on Rails-oriented partner program is gaining steam.
