The 20
The cybersecurity and data backup provider made an appearance at the show, fresh off it’s DattoCon19 conference in Paris the week prior. The event held a message of support and investment for the developing European MSP community. The conference attracted more than 850 MSPs from 26 countries ranging from France to the Faroe Islands to Finland–making it the largest DattoCon ever held in Europe.
Another industry heavyweight, Kaseya, also made a strong showing at VISION. The provider just held its European conference, Connect IT Europe, in Amsterdam, to a sold-out audience of more than 500 partners and vendors. Attendees gathered to discuss the latest trends affecting MSPs and internal IT teams in Europe with a focus on driving MSP profitability and internal IT efficiency, studying the M&A landscape in Europe and addressing the common challenges that multifunction IT professionals face when a single IT pro or small IT team has to serve across all IT business functions.
File sharing and data storage provider Egnyte also made a strong showing on the expo floor. The SMB-focused platform recently launched a new G Suite integration for improved business collaboration. The company also is moving into the fast-growing compliance space. Keep your eye on this provider, rocketing to the top of the charts and poised for big things in 2020.
This IT solutions provider, which specializes in small business compute solutions, had quite the enthusiastic presence on the show floor. CEO David Cook, who used to be an MSP himself, touted the fact that Carbon Systems will soon offer thin client solutions (everyone is moving to the cloud) in response to the fact that folks are moving from traditional desktop and hardware solutions. The company will also announce a new workstation solution at the beginning of 2020.
Crayon, an IT advisory firm in software and digital transformation services, made out pretty well at the conference, taking home two industry awards — Best Partner of the Year and Best Revenue Booster. The award winners were announced live at the conference. Crayon recently completed four city Cloud Adoption partner events, which focused on intensive discussions around intelligent cloud and digital transformation.
RocketCyber, a threat monitoring platform, cuts its teeth on identifying threats for the endpoint. During the conference, president and co-founder Billy Austin pre-announced that the company will be expanding beyond the endpoint and venturing off into the network.
“Now, people from the same platform can identity threats on the endpoint and also on the network,” said Austin.
The company also announced that starting this month, it will identify threats for cloud-based applications. One platform, one single pane of glass, and being able to visualize and have insight on attackers.
This manufacturer and exclusive source of A/V, surveillance, networking and remote management products for professional integrators, showcased its OvrC Hub, which gives secure access to a device on any client’s network for support management troubleshooting without having to use a VPN. Designed specifically for service providers, it drives down the cost of doing business by removing the need to have on-site support and service, the company said.
This IT security company was our last stop on the vendor tour. Beachhead Solutions, which specializes in cloud-managed PC and mobile device encryption, security and data access control, just announced the week before VISION that it added encryption-as-a-service capabilities to its SimplySecure management system for MSPs and MSSPs. MSPs and MSSPs now can use SimplySecure to deliver encryption as a service. This is a company to keep your eye on, MSPs.

The 20’s 2019 VISION Conference, held in Dallas, was indeed a “destination for innovation and discovery in the MSP industry,” as CEO Tim Conkle put it prior to the event.
VISION ’19, held in Dallas Oct. 27-29, focused on two main topics: cybersecurity and sustainable business growth. The conference featured thought leadership, actionable content sessions, channel trends, stimulating workshops, interactive peer panels, and extensive peer networking — all focused on growing partners’ IT services business and addressing top cybersecurity challenges.
The packed expo hall featured an impressive vendor lineup, including staples such as Datto, Kaseya and Egnyte.
