ManageEngine has introduced a new integration for IT administrators that collects and analyzes additional security intelligence to help strengthen their security measures.

Announced this week, the new application programing interface (API) developed by the Pleasanton, California-based IT management software solutions provider allows third-party tools to access log data generated by EventLog Analyzer, the company’s flagship security information and event management (SIEM) product for IT.

Basically what the API does is open up EventLog Analyzer’s database for integration with any third-party application, enabling IT administrators to “bolster their security framework,” the company said.

The company also said the integration provides advanced threat mitigation, location-based threat analysis, customized security views and application performance tuning.

ManageEngine Product Manager Chenthil Kumaran said in a prepared statement that the integration brings numerous benefits to customers.

“While security visibility across all elements of IT infrastructure has become essential, most organizations cannot afford huge investment on big data analytics,” he said. “The current enhancements in EventLog Analyzer bridge this crucial gap.”

On a separate note, ManageEngine in June launched a new Android app for OpManager to enables IT administrators to monitor the performance of their managed devices from any location.
