Master MSP Mixes Onshore and Offshore Strategy

James Zachman is adding another twist to the Master MSP business model. As president of Real Time Data Services LLC, Zachman is leveraging offshore support in New Delhi, India, while continuing to build out his managed services business in Newport Beach, Calif.

Zachman says his company is blending:

  • MSP platform hosting;

  • software as a service (SaaS);

  • 24×7 network operation center (NOC) initiatives; and

  • help desk support services.

If Real Time Data Services truly delivers on all of those efforts, it’s the latest example of SaaS converging with the MSP industry.Of course, the Master MSP business model varies from company to company. But it generally involves a NOC organization hosting software for MSPs. In Real Time Data Services’ case, “we have replicated the Zenith Infotech model remaining vendor agnostic, and also provide offshore support from our facility in New Delhi India — which has been supporting our ASP business since 2004,” asserts Zachman. He adds that the company owns and operates the NOC.

The company has also launched the MSP QuickStart program, which allows MSPs to choose from such hosted options as:

  • Level Platforms

  • Kaseya

  • Nimbus

  • Labtech

  • 24×7 NOC Support

  • 24×7 Help Desk Support

  • Technical Training & Support

While I’m not endorsing Real Time Data Services, it sounds like the Master MSP model continues to gain momentum across North America — with some NOCs located offshore. And Zachman is a survivor of the ASP (application service provider) era, so watch for him to push forward with Real Time Data Service’s SaaS strategy.
