Moka5 announced the launch of Vanguard – M5 LivePC version 4.0 this week, a core component of the company’s M5 Enterprise AnyWare platform.
The next generation end-user computing solutions provider says that M5 LivePCv4 will offer users greater scalability than legacy VDIs as well as greater APIs for infrastructure integration. It will also allow for enhanced enterprise manageability and security for corporate and personal computers in order to support BYOD initiatives.
"Moka5 has been at the forefront of the new enterprise end-user (EU) computing market and now with Vanguard, Moka5 delivers fully on its promise," said Dave Robbins, CEO, Moka5 in a prepared statement. "Combining truly massive scalability with a great user experience, IT is able to guarantee client performance while simplifying its overall management footprint and significantly reducing costs."
M5 LivePCv4 operates by utilizing client-side virtualization technology to allow Windows and Macs to run fully configured and encrypted corporate desktops within a secure, centrally managed container. The solution works both on and offline to give users complete isolation of corporate data and applications from personal information and applications as well as the host, according to the press release.
Moka5 says that LivePCv4 will allow for 14,000 containers per management server achieved via 64-bit architecture, and will also feature container management REST APIs and self-service REST APIs. In addition, the new system will be equipped with user download controls and improved host security assessment, while providing a more robust file transfer experience between primary image stores and Moka5 and Amazon S3 replicas.
