For the second time in recent months, PlumChoice, Inc. has made an acquisition within the managed services market. The latest deal involves PlumChoice buying Tific AB, a Swedish provider of IT automation and help desk tools for managed services providers (MSPs) and corporate IT departments. PlumChoice will combine its remote management platform with Tific’s self-healing IT tools. Some of the largest companies in the United States and Europe apparently have implemented Tific’s IT monitoring tools to diagnose and resolve their network problems. “Tific tools provide services to tens of millions of users worldwide with a terrific reputation for innovative problem solving,” said PlumChoice CEO Ted Werth in a prepared statement. “Tific shares our ‘Service 2.0’ vision for successful service solutions that combine excellent tools to solve problems automatically and assist with the ongoing support of more complex issues.”
PlumChoice already offers the SAFElink Service Relationship Management Platform, which includes channel enablement, customer acquisition, service selection, billing, service delivery, case tracking, customer communication, quality management and customer intelligence capabilities. PlumChoice has been solving consumer and SMB technical issues remotely, and now it will use Tific’s solutions to help companies slash their Tier 1 service costs, the company claims. Former CEO of Tific AB Par Ribbner will become president of Tific and senior VP of PlumChoice.
PlumChoice’s Tific AB acquisition builds upon its buyout of Everon Technology Services in November 2010 to ramp up its small business IT support services. PlumChoice’s goal is to offer a complete scalable solution for home computer systems, SMBs and enterprises.
