How many of us can say we’re that dedicated? According to an account by Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son, Steve Jobs was active in the development of Apple’s latest products, right up until the day before he passed away. Here’s the story about the passion of the Steve …

According to PCMag.com, right after the iPhone 4S launch, Son met with Apple CEO Tim Cook to discuss business, since Softbank and Apple are partners. Cook ended the meeting abruptly, apologizing that Steve Jobs was calling to discuss Apple’s future product plans. The very next day, after the iPhone 4S launch, Jobs passed away.

There were rumors that Jobs’ last project was the iPhone 5, and that he worked on that exclusively in the last year, leaving the iPhone 4S launch to Tim Cook and the gang. But according to a New York Times article, Jobs has left a legacy of at least four years’ worth of products lined up, not just another phone.

It’s obvious Jobs would  have been involved in the development of the iPad 3 and the iPhone 5, but what lies beyond that is a mystery only known to those deep inside Apple. My guess? There have been rumblings about Apple eventually developing its own television set along with a fleet of larger MacBooks without optical drives, such as a 17-inch MacBook Air. But I think the real mystery will be how Steve Jobs’ legacy shapes Apple not in the short term, but in the next 10 to 15 years. Will there be a day when Jobs’s DNA is no longer in the Apple products we use, or did Jobs plan so far ahead there will never be an Apple product without his fingerprints on it?
