Symantec, Wake Up: Zetta.net Wants to Steal Backup Exec Customers
Zetta.net is continuing its efforts to steal Symantec customers away from the well-known security and backup software vendor.
Zetta.net is continuing its efforts to steal Symantec (SYMC) customers away from the well-known security and backup software vendor.
Zetta.net went after Symantec Backup Exec.cloud customers in December 2013 immediately after Symantec told channel partners it would be shutting down its Backup Exec.cloud service in January.
This time the cloud-based backup and disaster recovery (BDR) solution provider is offering Symantec Backup Exec customers a “golden parachute” that gives three months of free service when purchasing an annual subscription of Zetta.net’s solution.
With this new promotion, Zetta.net is not targeting Backup Exec.cloud, but Backup Exec — Symantec’s on-premise backup and recovery software.
“Channel partners are able to offer their customers an easy to deploy and manage enterprise-grade BDR solution at a lower price-point, enabling them to focus their efforts on key business initiatives and get new customers,” Zetta.net Channel Sales Director Art Ledbetter said.
Ledbetter said channel partners can also benefit from high margins and higher monthly recurring revenue.
