August 23, 2006
Call-processing technology provider ThinkEngine Networks (Booth 107), which was acquired by Cognitronics Corp. in November 2005, announced it will showcase its VSR1000 Enhanced Voice Services Router, a carrier-class platform.
The VSR1000 series is designed specifically to allow carrier networks to deliver enhanced network services quickly and easily in both TDM and IP networks, as well as in converged network environments. A wide range of functionality and variety of services are available on the VSR1000, such as conferencing, speech recognition, an embedded TDM/IP gateway, transcoding, SIP server, and a graphical Call Flow Designer. The VSR1000 adheres to NEBS standards and includes features such as a dedicated management coprocessor, -48v DC power, standard telco style alarms and SS7 signaling support. In N+1 configurations, the VSR1000 can provide 99.999 percent service availability, ThinkEngine said.
The VSR1000 offers full-bridge conferencing capabilities across the entire 672 channel capacity of the platform. The conference bridge is an N-way, three-talker bridge. Larger conferences can be created by interconnecting multiple VSR1000s.
