Tintri Inc. now sells its storage platforms for virtualized environments in North America, thanks to a new contract with distributor Arrow Electronics Inc.

Arrow agreed last year to distribute Tintri’s products in 13 countries in Europe that alliance now extends to the United States and Canada.

Tintri was founded by Kieran Harty, who led development at VMware as executive vice president of engineering. As a result, Tintri’s platforms are branded as "VM-aware," meaning that they operate natively at the VM level and make a VM the core management object within the Tintri systems.

Arrow said that’s what its resellers need.

Tintris focus on VM-granular manageability, deep insight and predictable performance can help IT organizations maximize the benefits of virtualization,” said Mike Nowlan, vice president of North American security, virtualization, and networking for Arrows enterprise computing solutions segment. "Tintri simplifies the process of provisioning VMs, monitoring performance and keeping applications running smoothly.”
