Level 3 Opens New Premier Elite Data Center

Level 3 Communications Inc. has opened a new data center at 524 Van Buren Street in Herndon, Va.

The facility offers fully redundant, high-density power and cooling systems, multiple levels of security, and connectivity to Level 3’s network in 60 countries. Level 3 said that makes the data center another in its Premier Elite line; the provider operates 17 other top-tier data centers in in North America, Europe and Latin America.

The data center market in northern Virginia is one of the top three in the world, according to research firm Ovum.
