Pure Storage, which makes flash-based array storage systems, has made big changes to its channel program and added an international partner advisory board.

Flash array storage contains multiple flash memory drives, as opposed to spinning hard disk drives. That’s important because flash array has no moving parts, and can be erased and reprogrammed in blocks.

And now, as more mid-market and enterprise customers require data availability and integrity, Pure Storage is rolling out a restructured partner program. The company first launched its channel initiative about a year ago, saying it would distribute solely through indirect partners. It has since signed more than 100 partners worldwide and says it’s time to add tiers, and expand benefits, training tools and support features.

As such, some of Pure Storage’s partner program enhancements include the following:

  • Gold and Silver tiers: Partners earn more benefits and rewards for boosting sales results, adding technical accreditations, taking part in demand-generation marketing and providing pre- and post-sales services to customers;

  • PureRewards: A rewards program built on partners’ pre- and post-sales efforts;

  • Deeper deal registration discounts based on higher tiers;

  • MDF and incentives based on specific demand-generation activities;

  • PureAcademy: an online learning management system;

  • Sales and technical training videos delivered by sales experts; and

  • PureDemand: Fully funded online and off-line demand-generation tools.

In addition, Pure Storage has invited 11 of its top resellers from around the world to serve on its first-ever Partner Advisory Council. Representatives will help Pure Storage develop its partner strategies and addres customer pain points. The company’s first board is comprised of executives from Applied Computer Systems, Ahead, AntemetA, CloudGov Technologies, Corus360, Dewpoint, ePlus, Integrated Archive Systems, Integrated Data Storage, Iron Bow Technologies and Softcat.
