RapidScale has finished upgrading to NetApp All Flash FAS in a step it says will increase speed and performance for customers.
The managed cloud services provider said it picked NetApp from a list of flash storage providers. RapidScale Chief Technology Officer William Hiatt said the company will become more competitive as a result of the move.
“We’ve accelerated database transactions and virtual desktop response times up to 20x by moving to NetApp All Flash FAS. We view ‘all flash, all the time’ as a competitive differentiator for us against public cloud and other managed cloud providers,” he said. “Moving to NetApp All Flash FAS made a lot of sense from a business standpoint, and it also helps our technical teams because they don’t have to spend time tuning individual workloads for optimal performance.”
Adam Fore, NetApp director of product solutions marketing, said its solutions will give “ultrafast” data services to RapidScale customers.
“Service providers like RapidScale need to cost-effectively deliver better performance and advanced data services to their customers to be more competitive,” he said.{ad}
RapidScale said the effectiveness will help it handle workloads like electronic medical records and databases. The company said choosing NetApp fits into its goal of “continuous business expansion.”
