Sidera Expands Network Reach in Chicago Area
Sidera Networks will offer dark fiber and lit services from 100MB to 100G on the newly constructed route between Chicago and three different data centers located in Elk Grove Village.
Sidera Networks is extending its network to the Chicago area’s largest data-center park in Elk Grove, Ill. The New York City-based communications service provider says it will offer dark fiber and lit services from 100MB to 100G on the newly constructed route between Chicago and three different data centers located in Elk Grove Village.
Data centers in Aurora, Wood Dale, and Elk Grove, Ill., serve businesses that require high-capacity bandwidth, ultra-low latency and diverse connectivity. Sidera’s newly expanded network route traverses north from Chicago to deliver dedicated fiber to three data centers located within a one-mile radius in Elk Grove. In addition, Sidera will soon connect Elk Grove to Aurora to complete a ring from Chicago to Elk Grove, down to Aurora and back to Chicago.
"This is an important market, not just for financial services, but also for content, cloud, and media because of its central location between the U.S. coasts," said Clint Heiden, president of Sidera Networks.
Sidera’s network between Chicago and Elk Grove delivers newly constructed, high-capacity connectivity to the largest consolidated business park in North America and interconnects three major data center facilities including Equinix (CH3), DuPont Fabros Technology (CH1), and Savvis (CH3). Dark fiber and lit services from 100MB to 100GB are currently available. Additional network connectivity to data centers in Wood Dale is planned.
