Sirius Telecommunications Inc. (Booth 428) has expanded its site and services in New York City.

The colocation provider has expanded its 60 Hudson location by 8,000 square feet. Thanks to that growth, Sirius now offers 24/7 access and tech support, with cabinets, racks and cage space available. In addition, the company added new HVAC and UPS with full generator backup.

Sirius said the enhancements reinforce its core operations: multiple connectivity choices to carriers locating PoPs in their colocation facilities. Customers including AT&T Inc., Fibernet, Global Crossing, Looking Glass (Level 3 Communications), Qwest Communications International Inc., Verizon Communications Inc., VSNL and Wiltel have direct cross-connections to telx and 30 other carrier suites in the building.

Sirius technicians support equipment from a number of manufacturers; they have technical expertise on Aculab, Alcatel, Cantata IMG 1010, Cisco, Fujistu, Nextone, Nortel, Nuera, Quintum, RAD, Sansay and Tellabs systems. The companys engineers also know building and servicing telecom infrastructure.

Sirius also has colocation facilities at the One Wilshire building in Los Angeles.

In addition to colocation services, Sirius provides switch partitioning for TDM, VoIP and hosted softswitch applications. It uses Veraz Control Switches and Nortel DMS 250/300s at both 60 Hudson and One Wilshire.
