Data backup and disaster recovery (BDR) and business continuity (BC) vendor Datto is integrating with Kroll Ontrack PowerControls 7.0 to provide source and metadata recovery for Microsoft (MSFT) Exchange Server 2013 and Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013.

Kroll Ontrack PowerControls was designed to help administrators search, recover, restore, and export data. Datto’s partnership with Kroll Ontrack enables Datto partners to copy existing mailboxes or content to new 2013 servers, Datto said.

The integrated solution’s migration path doesn’t require the old server and new server to be online simultaneously, eliminating the possibility of redundant work required to get an old server prepared for coexisting with Exchange and SharePoint 2013.

Datto founder and CEO Austin McChord said in his prepared statement that Datto partners can now initiate a search of all attachments and emails.

“The software is also useful in scenarios where employers need to track and manage workflow using email,” he said.

“The integration of Ontrack PowerControls into Datto’s software platform will allow users to leverage industry-leading IT tools and provide a stronger end-to-end business continuity solution,” said Kroll Ontrack Vice President of Product Development Jim Reinert in his prepared remarks.

Datto said this new integration works with Datto ALTO, Datto SIRIS and Datto SIRIS Lite. Datto solutions provide businesses with options ranging in size from 150GB to 100TB

Datto recently honored several partners with Rockstar Awards for the second quarter of 2013 to recognize the company’s most successful channel partners for their outstanding achievements.
