VMware (VMW) appointed Mark Margevicius and Shawn Bass to its End-User Computing division, the company announced this week. Both men will work with the EUC team to expand the virtualization giant’s suite of computing solutions and desktop products.
Margevicius formerly served as the vice president and Research director at Gartner, where he specialized in end-user computing and desktop virtualization, according to the press release. In his new role, Margevicius will be responsible for helping customers develop their EUC strategy and in helping customers transition their end-user computing environments to the mobile cloud.
Bass brings 20 years of consulting experience to his new position at VMware, where he will be responsible for leading and defining a long-term strategy for VMware’s desktop products, according to the company. Bass will also be tasked with implementing and developing the company’s desktop strategy going forward.
“Altogether, this represents a dream team with deep insight into end-user computing and desktop technologies,” said Sumit Dhawan, senior vice president and general manager of desktop products for VMware End-User Computing, in a statement. “Collectively, we remain focused on delivering the best solutions to transition the PC-centric end-user computing architectures to the mobile-cloud. I am honored and proud to be working with this team of executives.”
Last month, VMware announced that former company executive Noah Wasmer had taken the position of vice president of its End-User Computing division after serving in several high-level positions at MobileIron (MOBL) and Apple (APPL).
