Friday's Last Word: Instaclustr CEO Peter Nichol
Peter Nichol is the CEO of Instaclustr, a global cloud company that is changing the way applications are developed, deployed and scaled to run in the cloud on massive compute clusters (using terabytes of data). Peter has worked in high tech for 30 years, starting in the UK in 1986 when commercial software was just taking off. Since then he has lived on four continents and has held sales, marketing and general management positions across multiple industries. According to Peter: "In the early days, complex software was run on isolated computers for very specific tasks — it was expensive, took way too long to build, and was hard to use. Today, the application is the business. It's all about reliability and scale, providing 100 percent uptime for applications, and enabling rapid growth of internet companies and technologies. This really is the most exciting time to be in the technology industry."
