Network security appliances maker Fortinet is buying Coyote Point Systems Inc., mostly for its application delivery controllers.
The financial terms of the deal were not announced, as Coyote Point is privately held. The company makes application delivery, load balancing and acceleration platforms. Coyote Point said it agreed to the transaction because it needed the resources of a larger company.
Fortinet said the acquisition complements its network security strategy, and gives channel partners the ability to further target enterprises that are adopting cloud computing and services.
Fortinet said there will be no immediate changes to Coyote Point’s products, customer support or channel programs.
