The information technology services company, independenceIT, on Wednesday announced the acquisition of Veddio Cloud Solutions, a cloud services management platform and aggregator for managed services providers.
Allentown, Pa.-based independenceIT (iIT) said the deal broadens its customer base and enables channel partners to seize the benefits of the cloud through simple, intuitive management tools.
The deal is said to make sense both from a technological and distribution standpoint.
iIT’s Cloud Workspace solution addresses the challenges of application virtualization and user and policy management, according to the company; the Veddio Cloud Dashboard simplifies cloud services management and lets channel partners combine cloud or Internet-based service to develop bundles of cloud offerings, iIT noted.
“Veddio’s strong channel program — featuring over 150 partners — aligns perfectly with our focus on the reseller market,” independenceIT CEO and co-founder Charles Buck said in a statement. “Integrating VCD allows ilT to offer our channel partners an unprecedented opportunity to combine the Cloud Workspace with popular services and software offered by other, complimentary cloud vendors.”
iIT relies exclusively on channel partners, including AIR Technology Services, GreenPages, EarthLink, Australian Cloud and VerdTek. In March, the company announced that EarthLink would offer its Total Freedom Workspace and Instant Freedom Workspace solutions to its customers as part of EarthLink’s IT services offerings.
A spokesperson for iIT late Wednesday confirmed that the acquisition of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Veddio has closed.
Stonly Baptiste, Veddio’s co-founder and CTO, will join the iIT executive team as Executive Vice President of Technology/Innovation.
