Ingram Micro Acquires SoftCom, Cloud Offerings Expand
Technology distributor Ingram Micro Inc. (IM) has acquired Toronto-based SoftCom Inc., a cloud marketplace and global service provider offering domain name management, web hosting and cloud infrastructure services, to enhance Ingram Micro's cloud services and aggregation platform.

(IM) has acquired Toronto-based SoftCom Inc., a cloud marketplace and global service provider offering domain name management, web hosting and cloud infrastructure services, to enhance Ingram Micro’s cloud services and aggregation platform. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
As part of the deal, SoftCom will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingram Micro, with Turker Sokullu, former CEO and co-founder of SoftCom, continuing to lead the company as executive director, reporting directly to Nimesh Dave, Ingram Micro executive vice president, global business process and cloud computing.
Sokullu said the acquisition will provide SoftCom with a range of business opportunities, and allow it to leverage a vision of the future that it shares with Ingram Micro

Ingram Micro president and CEO Alain Monie said in his prepared remarks that the acquisition will enhance Ingram Micro’s cloud offerings and aggregation platform.
Ingram Micro recently made cloud services provider (CSP) dinCloud‘s offerings available to the company’s North American channel partners via the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace.
